The Bible
We believe that the Scripture is inspired by God through the Holy Spirit for instruction in salvation and training for right living. It is the authoritative source and standard for preaching and teaching about faith and life, for distinguishing truth from error, for discerning between good and evil, and for guiding prayer and worship. It is the Word of God written. [Prov. 30:5; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21]
God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. [Matthew 3:16-17; 1 John 5:7-8]
Humankind
We believe that God created male and female in His image to have fellowship with Him. Because of sinful disobedience, however, they became alienated from Him. As a result, humankind is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God on their own effort. [Gen 1:26; Romans 3:23]
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ [the Son of God] took on flesh to reveal God to us and to become the Savior of the world. He, being fully God yet fully man, is the only person to have ever lived a sinless life. [Isa. 9:6; John 1:1, 14; 1 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:15]
Salvation
We believe that, through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God offers salvation from sin and a new way of life to all people. We receive God's salvation when we repent of sin and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. [John 3:16; Acts 3:19]
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit was given to empower and edify the individual believer and the church. The Holy Spirit calls people to repentance, convicts them of sin, and leads into the way of right living all those who open themselves to the working of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is alive and active today. [Acts 1:5,8; Eph. 3:16; Acts 2:16-18]
The Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Bible, prayer and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer should mature and become conformed to the image of Christ. [Gal. 5:25; 2 Cor. 3:18]
The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ - the new community of disciples sent into the world to proclaim the reign of God. The church is the new society established and sustained by the Holy Spirit. The church is called to become ever more like Jesus Christ, its head, in its worship, ministry, witness, mutual love and care, and the way it lives its life. [1 Pet. 2:9; Rom. 12:13; Eph. 1:22-23]
